Make Plans Today for the APHN 2020 Annual Conference

Don’t miss this year’s APHN annual conference, to be held April 20-23 at the Sheraton Denver West.

This year’s conference, “From Data to Action: 21st Century Public Health Nursing,” will include essential information for all PHNs to help them advance their practice and leadership skills.

The conference keynote speakers will address a wide-range of critical public health issues. Conference keynotes will include:

  • John Auerbach, President and CEO, Trust for America's Health
  • RADM Aisha Mix, Chief Nurse, US Public Health Service
  • Dr. Natasha DeJarnett, National Environmental Health Association
  • A special session showcasing current resources and strategies for Opioid Misuse Prevention, including experiences and insights from public health leaders

Keynote sessions will be held on April 22 and 23, along with 40 breakout sessions covering a wide array of essential topics in PHN practice, leadership, and education.

A full-day plenary workshop on April 21 will highlight new strategies for building competency and partnerships supporting public health nursing practice and leadership. This workshop will address PHN residency, advocating for the public’s health, achieving health equity, emergency preparedness and response, leading through board service, and important insights for PHNs regarding the Future of Nursing 2030.
